Richard de was born on August 4th, 1222 in Gloucestershire, England.  Richard de's father was Gilbert de CLARE EARL OF GLOUCESTER and his mother was Isabel MARSHALL. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named William de, Gilbert De, Joan De, Maud De, Susan De, Avicia De, Amica De, Isabel De, Adeliza De and Agnes De.  He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, and also a half-sibling of unknown gender, named John of, Henry of, Isabella of and Nicholas of.  He died at the age of 39 on July 15th, 1262 in Ashenfield Manor, Waltham, Kent, England.  He was buried on July 28th, 1262 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England.
