Aethelred I Aethelred I/De Wessex 
Aethelred I was born about 0825. Aethelred I's father was King Aethelwulf "Noble Wolf" Aethelwulf of Wessex and his mother was Osburga Osburh. His paternal grandparents were King of Wessex Egbert III and Redbuga Raedburh De Toulouse; his maternal grandfather was Oslac. He had five brothers named AEthelbald, AEthelbert, AEthelswyth, Athelstan and Alfred. He was the oldest of the six children. He died on April 23rd, 0871.General Notes
Aethelred was another brother of Ethelbald, ruling from 866 to 871. He was the third son of Ethelwulf to wear the mantle of kingship.
