Lydia was born on May 13th, 1762. Lydia's father was William Willis and her mother was Betty Harlan. Her paternal grandparents were Edward Willis and Katharine Maris; her maternal grandparents were James Harlan and Susannah Osborn. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Joel, Susanna and Hannah. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Samuel, Joseph, Mary and Elizabeth.-
