Bartholomew was born on March 11th, 1798 in Gorseybank, Derby, Eng. Bartholomew's father was Bartholomew Maskrey and his mother was Martha Greatorex. His paternal grandparents were Bartholomew Maskrey and Mary Tomlinson; his maternal grandfather was John Greatorex. He had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Bartholomew, John, John, Anthony, Benjamin, Ann and Mary. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 73 on October 10th, 1871 in Andrew, Jackson Co, IA.-
