John De Courtenay 
John was born in 1283. John's father was Hugh Courtenay and his mother was Eleanor Despencer. His paternal grandparents were John Courtenay and Isabel De Vere; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Le Despencer and Aliva Basset. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Hugh, Philip, Thomas, Robert, Eleanor, Margaret, Avelina, Egeline, Isabella and Alice. He was the third youngest of the eleven children.-
