Lillie Mae was born on February 21st, 1884 in Tupelo, MS.1 Lillie Mae's father was Robert Norris Garland and her mother was Sarah Jane Roper. Her paternal grandparents were William D. Garland and Ann H. Norris; her maternal grandparents were John Roper and Judy Capel. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Pheland, Henry, James W., Geneva Ann Hudson, Minnie, Lillie, James and Minnie Bell. She was the second youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 94 on July 29th, 1978 in Floydada, TX. She was buried on July 31st, 1978 in Floydada Cem., Floyd Co., TX.1 1 General Notes
