Joan was born in 1348 in Arundel,Essex,England.  Joan's father was Earl Richard II (Copped Hat) FitzAlan Of Arundel and her mother was Eleanor Plantagenet.  Her paternal grandparents were Edmund Fitzalan and Alice De Warenne; her maternal grandparents were Earl Henry Plantagenet Of Lancaster and Maud De Chaworth. She had three brothers and a sister, named Richard III, John, Thomas and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Edmund, Henry and Mary (Isabel).  She died at the age of 71 on April 7th, 1419 in Saffron Walden,Essex,England.  She was buried in Walden Abbey,Essex,England.1
