Joan was born in 1375 in Beaufort Castle,Maine-et-Loire,Anjou,France.  Joan's father was Duke John Plantagenet Of Lancaster, Prince Of England and her mother was Catherine De Roett.  Her paternal grandparents were King Edward III Plantagenet Of England and Phillipia De Hainault; her maternal grandparents were Sir Payne De Roet and Catherine De Hainault. She had three brothers named Fairborn, Henry and Thomas.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Henry IV, Philippa, Elizabeth and Catherine.  She died at the age of 65 on November 13th, 1440 in Howden,Yorkshire,England.  She was buried in Lincoln Cathedral,Lincoln,Lincolnshire,England.1

‌Joan and Ralph were married in a religious ceremony on February 3rd, 1396 in Chateau De Beaufort,Maine-et-Loire,France.  They had a son and a daughter, named Richard and Cicley.
