His paternal grandparents were Abraham Abney Dr. and Cassandra Meredith; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Collins and Lucy Prisher Marjoribanks. He had two brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Nathaniel Jr. and Jane\Jean. He died after 1831 in Hinds County,Mississippi.-
