Cap. João Dias Teixeira

João Dias was born about 1590.  João Dias' father was Cap. Baltazar Dias Teixeira and his mother was Mécia Álvares.  His paternal grandparents were João Dias Homem and Suzana Gonçalves Teixeira; his maternal grandfather was Nuno Álvares Lopes. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Manuel Dias, Nuno Álvares, Leonor Lourenço, Margarida Dias, Maria and Maria Roque. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Amaro Teixeira, Domingos Dias, Melchior Lourenço, Isabel Teixeira, Catarina Dias and Suzana Gonçalves.

They had four sons and a daughter, named João Teixeira De, Manuel, Antonio Nunes, Domingos Dias and Mécia.
