Camilo was born on October 26th, 1860 in Santa Clara DE Olimar, Treinta Y Tres, Uruguay.  Camilo's father was Francisco ("Chico") Saraiva Caäneda and his mother was Propicia "Pulpicia" Da Rosa.  His paternal grandparents were Francisco Do Amaral Saraiva De Jesus and Maria Angelica (Da Costa) Pereira; his maternal grandfather was Da Rosa. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Gumersindo, Basilicio, Antonio Floricio ("Chiquito"), Aparicio, Jose, Francisco Propicio, Mariano, Timoteo, Juana, Amelia and Sensata.  He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Enrique "Pichinango", Gilberto, Manuel Maria, Teresa and Braulia.  He died at the age of 82 in July 1943 in Santa Clara DE Olimar, Treinta Y Tres, Uruguay.
