Her paternal grandparents were Juan Jose Sanchez Garcia and Juana Maria Montes De Oca Morales; her maternal grandparents were Alferez Jose Mariano Muñoz and Maria Atanasia Palacios Pereira. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Joaquin, Amalio, Luis, Pedro Maria, Robustiana, Rudecinda, Cornelia and Felipa. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
