Alfredo Gumercindo was born on August 19th, 1912 in Montevideo - Uruguay. Alfredo Gumercindo's father was José María Mera Riator and his mother was María Del Pilar Suarez Blanco. His paternal grandparents were Manuel Mera Granja and Jacinta Riator Fernandez; his maternal grandparents were Manuel Suarez Neira and Vicenta Blanco Blanco. He had three brothers and three sisters, named José Manuel, Blanca, Eduardo Elviro, María Ester, María Elisa and Aida Florinda. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 60 on March 1st, 1973 in Montevideo - Uruguay.-
