Samuel Colson Varner 
Samuel Colson was born on May 4th, 1848 in Belmont County, Oho.1 Samuel Colson's father was John "Johnny" Varner Jr and his mother was Irena Emma Andrews. His paternal grandparents were John Varner and Sarah Moore; his maternal grandparents were Richard Andrews and Polly Bailey. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Richard Lane, John Nelson, William Henry, Philip Mason Thomas, Joseph Wilson, Sarah Ann, Barbara Ellen, Rhoda Jane, Maria Emily, Malinda Elma and Axiah Emily. He was the third youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 2 on September 28th, 1850 in Bellefountain Cemetery, Mahaska County, Iowa.1 -
