Joseph Talley 
Joseph was born in 1736 in Virginia.1 Joseph's father was William H. Talley and his mother was Rachel Grief. His paternal grandparents were John Talley and Anna. He had four brothers and a sister, named Frederick, Larkin, Lodwick, William and Peyton. He was buried in Ayers Hollow, Wayne County, Tennessee.1 
‌Joseph and Jane were married in a religious ceremony in 1768.1 They had three sons and a daughter, named George Washington, Russell, Grief and Mary Ann.
