Oliver Hazard Perry Markin

Oliver Hazard Perry was born in 1830 in Lawrence County, Ohio.¹   Oliver Hazard Perry's father was Thomas Markin and his mother was Francis Sumter.  His paternal grandparents were Charles W I Markin and Lucinda Dechard. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Christopher Richard, Thomas Jefferson, Mary, Lucinda D, Eliza and Sarah Ann.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.

‌Oliver Hazard Perry and Nancy Ann were married in a religious ceremony on February 27th, 1851 in Blackford County, Indiana.¹   They had two sons and a daughter, named William T, James R and Martha E.
