Marie was born in 1678.1   Marie's father was Martin Benoit and her mother was Marie Chaussegros. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Clement, Pierre, Claude, Jean, Jacqueline, Catherine, Jeanne-Anne and Francoise. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Jean, Marie and Francoise.1
