1   Jean's father was Martin Benoit and his mother was Marie Chaussegros. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Clement, Pierre, Claude, Jacqueline, Catherine, Jeanne-Anne, Marie and Francoise. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Jean, Marie and Francoise.1
