George Taylor 
1 George's father was James Taylor and his mother was Martha Thompson. His paternal grandparents were James Taylor and Mary Frances Walker; his maternal grandparents were William Thompson and Martha (Thompson). He had four brothers and five sisters, named Zachary, James, Erasmus, Charles, Frances, Mildred, Hannah, Tabitha and Martha Thompson. He died on November 4th, 1792.1 General Notes

George and a great-grandson named Andrew Taylor Still was founders of
Osteopathy in 1874. He organized the first college of Osteopathy in Kirksville,
Missouri in 1892.
He was appointed deputy clerk of Orange County in 1749 and in 1750 was
appointed clerk, which poisition he held until 1772, when he was succeeded by
his eldest son James Taylor. He was appointed colonel of the Orange County
Militia by Governor Dinwiddie during the French and Indian Wars, and at the
outbreak of the Revolution was a member of the Orange County Committee of
Safety. He was a member of the House of Burgesses from Orange from 1748 to
1758, and member of the Virginia Convention of 1775.
