William Thompson 
William was born about 1655 in ,Orange, Virginia.1 William's father was Roger Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Richard Thompson and Anne Nelthrope. He was an only child. He died in 1701 in Nancemond, VA..1 General Notes

from the ancient house of West-de-la-Warr.
William Thompson came to America with English troops to quell Colonial
differences with the crown as well as fight Indians. About this time
Nathaniel Bacon came to prominence in his "Bacon's Rebellion". This was
about 1676 or 100 years before the Revolutionary War.
William and Martha lived in Hanover Co. Va. at their home "Blackwell Neck"
and had great wealth and enfluence in the colony.
