William Eldridge RILEY 
William Eldridge was born on September 3rd, 1811 in Edgefield Co, SC.1 William Eldridge's father was Enoch M. Parsons RILEY and his mother was Elizabeth UNKNOWN. His paternal grandparents were William Wellman RILEY and Catherine UNKNOWN. He had eight brothers and nine sisters, named James Nolen, Jeremiah, John Hambleton, Barsilla, Eldridge, Enoch Parsons, Peter Cullom, George Washington, Tempe, Jinsey, Joysey, Betsy Ann, Cassinda, Ellen, Nancy, Pnesha and Harriet. He died at the age of 77 on December 16th, 1888 in Kemper Co, MS.1 General Notes

following given first hand account given to David RILEY by Lora Mae (RILEY) Mc Niel in San Marcos TX 15 Mar 1978 15March 1978: "William Eldridge Riley was my Great-grandpa. He married twice. I do not know the name of his first wife, bu t I certainly would like to find her name and to know all about her parents a nd her family background. She and here 3 bros/and or sisters died in AL. they h ad no children.He married secondly to Annie Letitia Turner, in Scooba, Kemper Co MS. They had nine children. The family farmed, grew fruit(apples, and peac hes)and had a saw mill. He was a Primitive Baptist preacher. They had 640 acr es of land. They were not rich, nor were they poor. They saw the Civil War. Sherman's raid came close there and frightened them all. The estate was about $300 each at that time.
