George Washington was born in 1780 in Edgefield Co, SC.1 George Washington's father was William Wellman RILEY and his mother was Catherine UNKNOWN. His paternal grandparents were John RILEY and Elizabeth UNKNOWN. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Jeremiah, James, John, Elijah, Elizabeth, Enoch M. Parsons, William Wellman and Mary. George married a Rebecca in 1815 in Edgefield Co SC and then a Nancy in 1840 Mo nroe Co. AL neither surname known. He had no children with either wife. Howe ver, George and his wife Nancy were guardians of many of their nieces and neph ews and their offspring. George left a will in Monroe Co AL May of 1859. He d ied around this time.
