Gilbert MARSHALL 
Gilbert was born in 1194 in Of, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales and his baptism took place in 1203 in ,St. David's, Pembrokeshire, Wales.1 Gilbert's father was William FITZGILBERT and his mother was Isabel Fitzgilbert de CLARE. His paternal grandparents were John FITZGILBERT and Sibilla (Sibyl) de SALISBURY; his maternal grandparents were Richard Fitzgilbert de CLARE and Aoife Eva MacDermot MCMURROUGH. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Richard, Walter, William II, Anselm, Margaret, Maud (Matilda), Isabel, Joane, Sibyl and Eve (Eva). He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 47 on June 27th, 1241 in ,Hertford, Hertfordshire, England. He was buried in Temple Church, London, Middlesex, England.1 1 General Notes
