His paternal grandparents were Gilbert Brionne and Gundrada de Crpon; his maternal grandparents were Walter GIFFARD and Agnes Ermentrude FLEITEL. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Roger, Richard FitzRichard de, Robert FitzRichard de, Gilbert FitzRichard de, Rohese Fitzrichard de, Ronais Fitz and Adeliza de.
