George W. was born in 1868 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   George W.'s father was George Wagner and his mother was Mary A.. He had four brothers and six sisters, named John, William J., James I., Charles, Mary E., Martha E., Lucy R., Rosannah, Mahala A. and Ruth W..  He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.
