John Vandeventer

John was born on September 16th, 1783 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   John's father was Abraham Vandeventer and his mother was Mary Jones.  His paternal grandparents were Isaac Vandeventer and Sarah Cowenhaven. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Peter, William, Jacob, Robert, John, Abraham, Charles Delham, Anna, Mary, Susan and Elizabeth.  He was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children.
