Mary Simms 
Mary was born in 1707 in Charles County, Maryland.1 Mary's father was James Semmes and her mother was Mary Goodrick. Her paternal grandparents were Marmaduke Semmes and Fortune Watson; her maternal grandfather was Robert Goodrick. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Milburn, Marmaduke, Ignatius, James, Susannah, Anne, Julianna and Susannah. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
