James Sappington 
James was born in 1756 in Cecil Co., MD.1 James' father was John Sappington and his mother was Margaret. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Sappington and Margaret Hartley. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John "Jack", Hartley, Sylvester, Richard, Elizabeth and Patience. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother named Richard.1 -
