William Patterson

William was born in 1834 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹ William's father was James Patterson and his mother was Lucretia Scism. His paternal grandparents were William Patterson and Mary Pruitt; his maternal grandparents were William Scism and Elizabeth Duncan. He had three brothers and a sister, named John, Jesse, James and Margaret Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the five children.
