Robert Patterson 
Robert was born in 1827 in North Carolina.1 Robert's father was Mathew Patterson and his mother was Nancy (Young?). He had six brothers and three sisters, named William, James, Benjamin Pierce, Warren Washington, Andrew J., Mathew, Rebecca, Eliz and Martha. He was the fifth youngest of the ten children.1
