John Mowell

John was born in 1844 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   John's father was Jacob Mowell and his mother was Amanda.  His paternal grandfather was Mowell. He had ten brothers and a sister, named Benjamin M., Richard, Isaac, James, Anderson, Henry, Jacob, William, Thomas, Joseph and Katherine.  He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.
