Jane A. was born about 1846 in ,Grundy, Tennessee.1 Jane A.'s father was William McCraw and her mother was Martha Armstrong. Her paternal grandparents were Gabriel McCraw and Susannah Latham; her maternal grandparents were William Armstrong and Elizabeth Galbraith. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Gabriel, William E., Frances, Susannah Laura and Evelina. She was the third youngest of the six children.-
