Mary Catherine Kite 
Mary Catherine was born in 1828 in Virginia.1 Mary Catherine's father was Jacob C. Kite and her mother was Catherine Slagel. Her paternal grandparents were Martin Kite and Catharine Kiser; her maternal grandparents were George Slagel and Catherine Kainath. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William H., George D., Oliver Hazard, Jacob R., Martin Van Buren, Isabella Perkey, Julia Ann, Angelina and Elizabeth. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.-
