Martin Van Buren Kite 
Martin Van Buren was born in 1837 in Page County, Virginia.1 Martin Van Buren's father was Jacob C. Kite and his mother was Catherine Slagel. His paternal grandparents were Martin Kite and Catharine Kiser; his maternal grandparents were George Slagel and Catherine Kainath. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William H., George D., Oliver Hazard, Jacob R., Isabella Perkey, Julia Ann, Mary Catherine, Angelina and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the ten children.-
