John Kite 
John was born about 1841 in Virginia.1 John's father was Noah Kite and his mother was Isabella Perkey Kite. His paternal grandparents were George Kite and Elizabeth Long; his maternal grandparents were Jacob C. Kite and Catherine Slagel. He had ten brothers and seven sisters, named Edgar, Erasmus, George, Oliver, Henry, Benjamin M., Harvey, Lewis Wolford, Allen W., Ashby, Eleanora, Eudora, Caroline, Belzonia, Victoria, Eleanora and Amanda V.. He was the nineth youngest of the eighteen children.-
