Jacob was born on December 15th, 1882 in ,,Ohio.1 Jacob's father was Winfield Kent and his mother was Sarah Minerva Parsons. His maternal grandparents were Solomon Parsons and Amanda Cavanee. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Cleveland, Robert, Ariville and Lovina. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother named Henry.-
