William Jones

William was born in 1843 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   William's father was Pleasant Carter Jones and his mother was Poriade Serginer.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Jones and Mary Gardiner. He had four brothers and nine sisters, named Landon C., Alexander, James Marion, Jesse, Mahaley, Jane, Martha Jane, Patience, Jerusha, Mary Or Polly, Sarah, Elizabeth and Rosannah Or Rosa.  He was the third oldest of the fourteen children.
