Hardy Holmes

Hardy was born in 1771 in North Carolina.¹ Hardy's father was Gabriel Holmes and his mother was Mary Cason. His paternal grandparents were John Holmes and Tamar Bird. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Owen, Lewis, Gabriel, Ann, Penelope and Dorothy. He was the second youngest of the seven children.
