Phereba was born about 1750 in Of, Halifax, North Carolina.1 Phereba's father was John Hobgood and her mother was Frances Morgan. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hobgood and Elizabeth; her maternal grandfather was Samuel Morgan. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Lemuel, Elijah, Micajah, Samuel Morgan, John, William, Frances, Elizabeth, Ruthemah and Penelpha (Penelope). She was the oldest of the eleven children. She died after 1810 in ,Halifax, North Carolina.1 -
