Joseph Sherman was born on August 8th, 1866 in ,Owen, Indiana.1 Joseph Sherman's father was William Goff and his mother was Sarah Or Rhoda Meadows. His paternal grandparents were Josephus Goff and Anne Clark; his maternal grandparents were Lewis A. Meadows and Jane Franklin. He had a brother named Charles H.. He was the older of the two children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named George Emery, Henry, Frank, Arthur, Elmer, Flora C. and Jemmiah Jemima Or Minnie. He died at the age of 80 on March 10th, 1947 in Loudon Twp., Fayette, Illinois. He was buried in Moccasin Cem., Effingham, Illinois.1 1 -
