John Curtis Goad

John Curtis was born in October 1887 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   John Curtis' father was Nathan Dillard Goad and his mother was Elizabeth Hamilton.  His paternal grandparents were Peter Goad and Marinda. He had three brothers and nine sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Samuel, Wallace, Thomas, Eva, Nancy A., Sarah J., Alice, Ella, Steney, May, Sarah, Burly, Sulacial and Goad.  He was the seventh youngest of the fifteen children.
