John Elkins

John was born in 1859 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹ John's father was Absalom Elkins and his mother was Rebecca Bolin. His paternal grandparents were George Elkins and Dicey. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William, Harvey, George, Henry, Samuel, Nancy, Laura, Margaret and Mollie. He was the third oldest of the ten children.
