Sarah Amanda Dickson

Sarah Amanda was born on March 1st, 1858 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   Sarah Amanda's father was William Samuel Dickson and her mother was Sarah Brown.  Her paternal grandparents were William Howard Dickson and Mary Shipley; her maternal grandparents were John Wesley Brown and Margaret Kincheloe. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William P., John W. B., Noah Baldwin, Mary Jane, Margaret Elvira, Martha E. and Eliza Ann.  She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named George H. T., Samuel F. and Mary Susan.  She died at the age of 94 in 1952.¹
