Mary Jane Dickson

Mary Jane was born in 1849 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   Mary Jane's father was William Samuel Dickson and her mother was Sarah Brown.  Her paternal grandparents were William Howard Dickson and Mary Shipley; her maternal grandparents were John Wesley Brown and Margaret Kincheloe. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William P., John W. B., Noah Baldwin, Margaret Elvira, Martha E., Sarah Amanda and Eliza Ann.  She was the oldest of the eight children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named George H. T., Samuel F. and Mary Susan.
