Arthur Cotton 
Arthur's father was John Bertie Cotton and his mother was Martha Godwin. His paternal grandparents were John Cotton and Anne Hutcheson; his maternal grandparents were William Godwin and Elizabeth Wright. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James, Thomas, Patience and Priscilla. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Alexander Spotswood, John, Joseph, Samuel, William, Martha, Susannah and Cotton.-
