William Riley Combest 
William Riley was born on July 9th, 1827 in Russell County, Kentucky.1 William Riley's father was Austin Eden Combest and his mother was Margaret Combest. His maternal grandparents were Samuel D. Combest and Sarah Dick. He had a brother and a sister, named James Marion and Nancy Ann. He was the oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Frank, Shelby Stone, John Alfred Cauell, Sarah Frances, Mary Margaret and Julia Adaline. He died at the age of 62 on April 7th, 1890 in Collin County, Texas (Highland Cem, Anna).1 General Notes

Born in Russell County, Kentucky was raised by his grandparents, Samuel
and Sarah "Sallie" Dick Combest, until he was old enough to make a living
on his own.
In 1850 James Marion Combest resided with William Riley and Delila Sloan Combest in 1850 Casey County, Kentucky Census.
He was a farmer and a great fiddler. He played for nearly all the dances
in the county and surrounding counties. He also served as the constable,
according to the 1870 Casey County, Kentucky census.
According to information from Janie Shanks William Riley Combest went to
Texas around 1887 or 1888--Anna, Texas.
