James Lauren Combest 
James Lauren was born on February 25th, 1906 in Pana, Illinois.1 James Lauren's father was Albert Galatan Combest and his mother was Claudia Ardella McNutt. His paternal grandparents were Commadore Perry Combest and Abigail Frances Wood; his maternal grandparents were James W. McNutt and Martha Elizabeth Smart. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Leland Leroy, Infant, Rowena and Ruth Leola. He had a half-sister named Dorothea Maybelle. He died due to Cancer at the age of 75 on October 12th, 1981 in (Buried at Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin, Illinois.1 General Notes

James, retired manager of the Bonnie Dundee Country Club where he worked for 21 years, died of cancer on 12 October, 1981. His ashes were scattered in the Fox River at Trout Park, Elgin, Illinois, because of all the good memories he had of there, when he first came to Elgin.
He was a very independent person, known to pick up and leave on a long trip with little notice. Driving almost non-stop, he would travel many miles to visit friends or family.
