Christopher Columbus Combest 
Christopher Columbus was born on March 14th, 1854 in Mercer County, Missouri.1 Christopher Columbus' father was Samuel James Combest and his mother was Adaline Read. His paternal grandparents were James Combest and Nancy Bowmer; his maternal grandparents were William Read and Elizabeth Short. He had four brothers and three sisters, named George W., James William, Oscar, Hanis R., Mary E., Nancy S. and Clara C.. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 65 on August 14th, 1919 in Ness County, Kansas.1 General Notes

Like his father, Christopher met a tragic death. He was killed when
thrown from a grain binder, pulled by runaway horses.
