Lavenia was born on February 26th, 1825 in ,,GA.1 Lavenia's father was Micajah Fort Champion and her mother was Elizabeth Martin. Her paternal grandparents were William Champion and Mary Fort; her maternal grandparents were George Martin and Lavenia Geiger. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named William, George Martin, John Fort, Andrew Fort, Elias Fort, Marion Eley, Micajah James, David Fort, Daniel Huff, Martha F., Rebecca and Sarah Frances. She was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.-
