Thomas Byars 
Thomas was born in 1836 in Washington County, Virginia.1 Thomas' father was George Washington Byars and his mother was Ann Blessing. His maternal grandparents were Jacob Blessing and Elizabeth Messersmith. He had three brothers and three sisters, named George Washington, James Allen, John, Eliza Jane, Mary Ann and Susan. He was the second youngest of the seven children.-
